Testimonials
"Having hired her as a trainer for my Canadian mare, I knew I was making a great choice. Caring, knowledgeable, and skilled, she combines those qualities with ethics that put the horse first before the training objectives. She's able to quickly evaluate the horse and its individual strengths and areas that need improvement; all the while maintaining a good relationship that puts safety at the forefront. She works well with a variety of sound training methods and has gone above and beyond that to work with me on specific training objectives. Her knowledge is clearly communicated and the explanations easy to understand. She is always available to listen, discuss progress, design schedules and training plans that fit the horse. Her love, understanding and appreciation of horses help her, the horse being trained, and the owner work together as a team that is encouraging, positive, and fosters success on all levels." I've had my mare "Candy" for about 7 years now, and I didn't know anything about how to train her properly. She used to be a worried horse and needed to calm down and realise that we weren't going to hurt her. Alison helped me show Candy how to relax and enjoy the training! I've taken a few lessons with Alison on her horse Ricochet, to help make me a better rider, not only for me but also for my horse. Candy and I have come along way! We wouldn't be this far into our riding and most of all our partnership. I couldn't ask for a better coach/ trainer to help us along our way. I'm so happy how far we have come together, I can just ride her now and not worry about her being hyper and not knowing what to do. We can just work together in our riding, every ride is getting better and better. I highly recommend Truly A Pleasure Performance Horses, Alison will teach you as much as you would like to know about riding. Chantelle Soucy - New London, PEI
A good coach, someone who has a lot of knowledge. A great coach, someone who can impart that knowledge in a way that the student can understand. An amazing coach? One who has the traits of the other two but then steps it up and brings understanding, compassion, patience and an unwavering belief in their student even when it takes years working with that student to get them past a green rider level. That is what you will get when you look to Alison McEwen, of Truely a Pleasure Performance Horses as a coach. She not only has this amazing ability with people, she is one of the only people I know that is a TRUE Horse Whisperer! She can work miracles with the most difficult of horses, I have seen this with my own eyes and it still awes me. You will never go wrong when you have Alison as your coach and horse trainer! Allison is a wonderful, patient trainer and coach. She is the perfect combination of firm and soft. She has been training my coming 3 year old AQHA filly for just over 6 months and has done an amazing job! The horses love her and she trains from the ground up. She has almost finished my filly in SMS and Trail and is doing a great job with the Western Pleasure. My filly will be ready for AQHA shows in May. She also hauled her to 3 open shows last summer for show experience and my filly placed in every class and got progressively better at each show. I would recommend her highly both as a trainer and an Equine Canada coach! Elizabeth Leard-Schultz - Charlottetown, PEI
Alison is a very dedicated and hard working person. She loves horses and has been riding since 2 yrs old. First thing in the morning she would run off to the barn in her night gown and cowboy boots. Her passion is intense and all horses love her. She is truly a professional at what she does. Tracey Clow - Freetown, PEI
